Black Pine Animal Sanctuary

World Animal Protection has partnered with Black Pine Animal Sanctuary to provide refuge for wild animals and to educate responsible animal care and conservation.

Nestled on 18 acres in Albion, IN, Black Pine Animal Sanctuary (BPAS) is the forever home to over 80 animals and 60 different species. As the only multi-species Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS) accredited sanctuary in Indiana, BPAS provides sanctuary to wild animals in need of safe refuge for the remainder of their lives.

At Black Pine, residents are provided care that is specialized for each species and personalized to the fit individual needs. Everything from habit design to diet and enrichment is perfectly crafted for each individual resident. The sanctuary offers paved trails with habitats for wolves, foxes, tigers, bobcats, and bears. In addition to the outdoor habitats, Black Pine hosts a Primate House, Reptile House, and Avian Building.

Sponsor an Animal

Becoming a Black Pine Animal Champion allows you to provide care for the animal of your choosing. By sponsoring a resident at BPAS, Animal Champions help provide nutrition, enrichment, supplements, and medical supplies. The name of every Animal Champion is displayed in the habitat of the animal they’ve sponsored, and they are known as that animal’s Champion of the Year. Champions also receive a photo of their resident, a certificate of sponsorship, and an invitation to a private tour.

Animals First

All the work done at World Animal Protection and Black Pine Animal Sanctuary starts and ends with animals. By helping more people understand that animals are sentient, individual beings who feel pain, fear, and joy, we show the world that they deserve protection.
