Ben
Ben is an American black bear who came to Black Pine in April 2010 after spending much of his life in captivity with the Great American Frontier Show. He was forced to perform, and as he aged, the cost of his care and ongoing compliance issues led the show’s owners to give him up.
Today, Ben lives in the Sanctuary, where he’s finally able to just be a bear. Ben is the largest bear at Black Pine, weighing between 400 and 450 pounds.
