Sea Change
We've impacted over a million animals by tackling "ghost gear."
You can also help combat ghost gear by choosing sustainable seafood.
The ghost gear crisis
Abandoned fishing gear (ghost gear) are one of the biggest threats to our sea life.
A staggering 640,000 tons of gear is left in our oceans each year.
This gear traps, mutilates, and kills hundreds of thousands of animals annually.
By bringing together governments, businesses and fishing organizations, we took giant steps towards cleaning up our oceans this past year.
Global Ghost Gear Initiative
We founded the Global Ghost Gear Initiative (GGGI) to globalize our Sea Change campaign carry it forward.
Since founding the GGGI in 2015, several global seafood companies have joined the alliance.
Learn more about the GGGI and how you can get involved.
