Animals in need after Costa Rica floods

After multiple provinces were hit with one month's rain in just 8 hours, our disaster response team is on the ground helping animals.

The Atlantic region of Costa Rica is flooding, and countless animals have been affected.

Many villages are inaccessible, and it is estimated that thousands of cats, dogs and cattle are in harm’s way and in need of food.

Local pets like these dogs have been given much needed food by our disaster response team

Our team responded immediately, and are focusing particularly in the poorest region of the Matina district, where our assistance can make a huge impact to animal victims.

We are delivering emergency relief, first aid treatment and food.

We not only respond to disasters when they occur, but also work with people, communities and governments to prepare for disasters and protect their animals in times of crisis.

You can help animals in need

We are counting on our supporters to enable us to help more than 15,000 affected animals.

Just $42 could provide food for 5 of Costa Rica’s animals for the week. Every dollar will go a long way in caring for these animal victims.
