What does World Animal Protection do?
We want to change the way the world works to end animal cruelty and suffering. Forever. To do this, we work to end the cruelty of factory farming and create a more humane and sustainable food system. We work to stop the exploitation and captivity of wild animals to give them the wild life that they deserve.
Why help animals?
Animals are sentient, individual beings who feel pain, fear, and joy. Yet every day, billions experience unbearable cruelty. Animals depend on us to give them the voice they deserve.
What makes WAP different from other charities?
We start every conversation from the animal’s perspective. We help people understand that each animal is an individual with the right to live a life free from cruelty and suffering. Additionally, we are the only animal welfare organization with UN Consultative Status, enabling us to engage with and influence global decision-makers.
Why should I care, what’s in it for me?
Putting animals first is better for them, for us, and for our shared planet. Without them, we cannot sustain the ecosystems we all depend on.
Do you really work around the world?
For more than 70 years, World Animal Protection has worked across nearly 50 countries with offices in 12. Our USA office is headquartered in New York, NY.
How does DEI play a role in the work you do?
We cannot argue for the welfare and equity of animals without also supporting the humans with whom they share the world. Our relationship with animals is symbiotic. To build a stronger movement for animals, we must also build a better world for people.
