The Tale of the Dancing Dolphins

A new poem video by Tomfoolery focuses on the captive dolphin entertainment industry.

For this year’s World Ocean’s Day, we’ve collaborated with UK-based poet, Tomfoolery to release a poem highlighting the captive dolphin entertainment industry. The poem is titled “The Dancing Dolphins” and the video begins by the poet’s sister asking the simple question, “why are people mean to animals?”

Using the art of poetry, Tom answers the question in a way to encourage contemplation about the ways we treat animals. Known for ending his poems with hope and optimism, Tomfoolery tells the listener how we can all create a kinder and more compassionate future.

Watch the video below:

Over 3,000 dolphins live in captivity around the world. Reduced to performing tricks and shows, captive dolphins live in stressful conditions where noisy crowds and blaring music are the norm. On average, captive dolphins live in tanks 200,000 times smaller than their nature home range.

Share our video on social media and spread the word. Help us make this the last generation of dolphins in captivity.
