Whether legal or illegal, the wildlife trade is dangerous and cruel. As long as it’s legal to buy and sell some wild animals, we will continue to see others being smuggled. Turtles, like any wild animal, aren’t ornaments or “pets.” It’s time to prohibit the sale of wild animals, period.”
